About

Torsten Strer is an award-winning sound-design freelancer who doesn’t view sound in a conventional way, but rather in a modern, progressive and straightforward thinking context. Experimental sound-design that is functional and target-oriented is an integral part of his works and a relevant approach to implementing sound-design concepts. He is specialised in creating soundscapes, sound-collages and field-recordings for commercial as well as art projects. He is also open-minded for all kinds of works which need sound support.

Torsten Strer studied architecture, communication design and design and media. He holds a Master of Arts degree. He is inspired by electroacoustic music and focused on sound design for moving pictures during his studies. Torsten has worked with the Institute for New Music at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media (HMTMH) as a guest student. He has participated in works that have been shown at various film festivals, including Berlin, Rome, New York and Istanbul. In 2011, he won the "ADC Germany Junior Award".
